The original Mille Miglia was an open-road endurance race held in Italy from 1927 to 1957, covering a distance of approximately 1,000 miles from Brescia to Rome and back.

The text design features the words Mille Miglia curved above smaller Brescia Rome Brescia. A large 1988 takes centre stage to represent the year the Mille Miglia jacket was designed in homage to the race. All of this above the phrase 'L'Italia Della 1000 Miglia' and 'Automobile Club Brescia'.
